Bullybeat Launched

A pioneering new project to raise awareness of bullying is launched.

Kent-based teacher, songwriter and Academy member Nathan Timothy lauches Bullybeat - an intensive one-day songwriting workshop for schools, encouraging children to express their thoughts on this serious issue in a fun and interesting way.

The workshop is designed to enthuse children about the process of lyric-writing, singing, music arranging and contemporary production, whilst promoting a serious anti-bullying message.  During the day, the children compose, perform and record a song, using the latest music technology.  The schools receive a copy of the single and all the music will be available to download from the Bullybeat website, www.bullybeat.com, providing schools with an excellent resource for follow-up work.

John Baker, Headteacher at Knockhall Primary School, Greenhithe welcomed a Bullybeat workshop into his school earlier this month: "It was an extremely worthwhile day and was much enjoyed by the children.  Knockhall would be very keen to work with Nathan again in the future."

Bullybeat is proud to be working in partnership with Beatbulling and alongside The Music Manifesto, the Anti-Bullying Alliance, the British Academy of Composers & Songwriters and technology innovators, Focusrite, Novation and KRK.
