Biography

As a keyboard programmer, writer, producer and engineer, Roger's career has covered just about every aspect of the music and music-to-picture industry.

After graduating from Surrey University with a degree in Music & Sound Engineering, he spent six formative years as an in-house recording engineer and music producer for Island Music and Island Records, working with artists as diverse as Julia Fordham, Overlord-X and Heatwave. As a freelance engineer and programmer Roger then moved into the world of feature film soundtracks, working on high profile movies such as Cliffhanger, Kiss Of Death and In The Name Of The Father.

Pop work took something of a back seat during this period but he still managed to programme and engineer remixes for, amongst others, the Spice Girls , Backstreet Boys, Warren G, the Brand New Heavies and Kenny Thomas, working mainly with producers Frankie Foncett and Danny D.

A yearning for music for its own sake steered Roger away from movie soundtracks in 1995 to make more time for writing and music production. Since then he has leant his programming and keyboard playing talents to albums for Gary Moore and Steve Hackett (no fewer than five albums in the last four years) and singles for Juliet Roberts (including the hits 'So Good' and 'Bad Girls') and Dina Carroll. Songwriting covers have included Peter Andre and MN8 as well as two songs on the Jamelia album for Parlaphone and two songs on Farrell Lennon's forthcoming album for Island Records.

Recent music to picture work has involved providing Guy Dagul with production expertise in pop and rock music as well as assistance on technical matters. This fruitful collaboration involved programming and engineering the score for the movie 'Greenfingers' (on general release towards the end of 2000) as well as musical contributions to Channel Four's Investigators series and Discovery's Extreme Machines series.
