Biography
Paul Williams (aka Terry Day) studied at the Royal College of Music before going on to read Music at Jesus Cambridge University, where he gained an MA. He has been composing since the age of eight and plays a variety of keyboard instruments. Paul has also worked as a session musician with numerous bands and orchestras, and has more recently worked with Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music fame.
Paul is a versatile, talented and experienced writer of media music. He has been composing for radio, television, films and the recording industry for several years and consequently understands the genres of music required for use and is able to display both versatility and virtuosity. Major credits include television commercials such as:
Flash Cascade; Heineken; Hewlett-Packard; ICI; National Panasonic; Sony; Suchard; Tetley Tea; Brittany Ferries; Lunn Poly; Ericsson.
Paul also composes for major international publishing companies, including Carlin Music and Zomba Publishing with over 1500 titles published. Paul is a great melodist and is able to apply his talents to any particular film scenario or drama. His compositions range from the dramatically horrifying, through romantic, into a more contemporary idiosyncratic style. Paul has also worked at BBC Radios 1 & 2 with many major production credits.
Currently living in Cheam, Surrey, Paul spends the majority of his time composing and recording to commission in his state-of-the-art recording studio (Mackie digital 8Bus 56-channel automated desk with Radar 24track, Lexicon 4801, AKAI 6400 samplers and Kurzweil keyboards.
