Biography
With vast experience in both Music and Radio, 25 year old singer/songwriter/broadcaster Michael Macdermid has both experience and youth on his side.
Musically, Michael has performed in front of audiences as large as 70 thousand, supported the likes of Wet Wet Wet, achieved a Scottish Network Chart position, headlined at various events such as London Fashion Week and shared the stage with pop megastars.
Recently, he has been working on not only Outbox, who release their second single "The Science in Me" and their debut album "Millie's Magical Catnip Dreams" this year but also on a variety of songwriting projects.
One of these projects, Audioair, is attracting particular interest from the likes of Universal and EMI. Working with Italian writer and producer Federico Conti (Mutya Buena, Bob Sinclar) and vocalist Holly Wood, the debut release is due summer 2008.
Michael also has songs for license available at his website www.oursongwriter.com - which launched in January 2007.
From a radio point of view, Michael presents The Sunday Session on Northsound 1, Aberdeen's leading radio station. He spends most of his time interviewing and producing acoustic sessions for the likes of Paolo Nutini, Scouting for Girls, Kate Nash, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Gabriella Cilmi, The Goo Goo Dolls to name but a few.
Michael also lectures at Aberdeen College in Radio, Sound Production and Music Law (2008).
