Biography

Simon won a choral scholarship to Cambridge University where he took a degree in modern languages. He went on to teach German, French and music for eight years at Kingston Grammar School before leaving to become a full-time composer following the commercial success of his first stage musical, 'Smike'. There have now been more than 10,000 performances of this show all over the world by school and youth drama groups.

Simon has received numerous awards and nominations for his music, including an Ivor Novello Award for 'Every Loser Wins' and three TRIC Awards for Best TV Theme for 'EastEnders', 'Howard's Way' and 'Trainer'.
