Deborah Mollison began composing at the age of seven when it was discovered that she was gifted with an acute sense of perfect pitch. At the age of 13 she was accepted to study composition, pianoforte and flute at the Royal Academy of Music, London. Winning the coveted Else Cross prize for pianoforte performance, Deborah graduated with a B.Mus and subsequently gained an M.Phil and Phd in music.
Through her association with Rondor Music, alongside film scoring Deborah has written numerous songs with named artists and writers for both film and album placement.
Deborah also continues to compose concert music. Her violin concerto "Ocean Witness" was performed in London at St Johns Smith Square and subsequently at the Royal Festival Hall by the London Philharmonic. Other works have included a commission from the Britten Sinfonia for a horn concerto, called "Global Nation" and "Maya's Words", an orchestral tone poem.
Deborah 's great diversity of style is born of a love for the adventure of writing music. Her impressive speed of composition and ability to be original within any given musical genre is matched by her skills of orchestration, arranging and conducting.
Deborah is represented by PFD in the UK and by CAA in Los Angeles, as a film composer; by American International Artists in New York as a classical composer. CDs: East is East [EMI Records] Earth Story [BBC Records]
