Biography

Adam Dyer is a composer, producer and jazz pianist with diverse tastes in music reflecting his unorthodox musical upbringing. Self-taught as a composer, and exposed to music technology at an early age, Adam has been writing music for over 10 years. At first he simply worked up in the attic with a basic computer and even more basic software, but over the years he accumulated bits of equipment and bought more advanced software. Over the same period he developed his keyboard skills, becoming the pianist for the Brentwood School Big Band aged 14, an unusually adept school ensemble. Moving school for sixth form to Taunton, Adam utilised the school's music technology to full advantage, and following a presentation of his music at a school assembly, Adam was approached to write music for commercial purposes, including a promotional video for Adam Sharpe , the racing driver, and a recruitment video for Allen & Overy , the law firm.

Having left school, Adam went to study Natural Sciences at Christs College Cambridge; however, his passion for writing and playing music remained as strong as ever. He joined the big band Selwyn Jazz upon arrival, and during his second year jointly formed the jazz/funk sextet Kaiser Six, who were impressively popular on the Cambridge scene. Whilst at Cambridge, Adam also continued to write and produce music- writing a choral piece that was runner-up in a competition for BBCs Radio 4. Whilst of a completely different style and requiring completely different skills, the BBC also benefited from his remix of the BBC News 24 theme, which was featured on the BBC website.

Currently living in Devon, Adam plays in a variety of different local groups including the Jazz quartet Fortuna . He is available to play at various functions, both as a solo pianist or with a larger jazz band.
