Biography
Simon Lesley is a visiting lecturer at Birmingham Conservatoire and at the University of Birmingham. He is widely published as a composer-arranger and is an accomplished performer, most recently at the 2005 Cheltenham International Jazz Festival. In 1997, he won the British Trombone Society Composition Competition, and has gone on to be short-listed by SPNM in 2004 and to be commissioned by the SPNM & NFMS Adopt-a-Composer scheme in 2004-5.
He has worked with Sian Edwards, Edwin Roxburgh, Peter Wiegold, the Swingle Singers and championship brass band The Staffordshire Band. His works are published by Universal Edition, Music Sales, Warwick Music, Kirklees Music, Kevin Mayhew and Studio Music and have been performed at the Barbican, Millennium Dome, Symphony Hall and around the world.
