Corinne Morris is an award-winning musician of more than 20 years’ standing.
Born in London, Corinne studied classical music (cello, piano, harmony, composition and conducting). She was selected to record for BBC Radio 3 at the age of 11, and was awarded several scholarships and funds - including those from the Arts Council of Great Britain – before graduating from the Royal College of Music in London with honours at 16. She subsequently studied at the Paris Conservatoire. A postgraduate Socrates/Erasmus programme took her to the University of Music in Vienna, Austria, where she completed her studies. She holds two ‘Masters’ in music performing.
Corinne has recorded for Europe’s major national radio stations including BBC Radio 3, France Musique (F), and the Bayerischer Rundfunk (D). She has given concerts all over Europe as well as in Israel, Japan and China. She has taken part in numerous recordings (for Deutsche Grammophon) with the Paris Opera Orchestra and Placido Domingo in Verdi’s Othello. During this time, she founded and managed a cello group, which gave numerous concerts in France. She also managed a successful duo which toured extensively and won many international competitions. Corinne managed a 40-piece orchestra and conducted them on two occasions.
Corinne has lately turned her focus to the “crossover” genre (pop/classical). She was commissioned to write the ‘Official’ Song Free for the charity, SoulTalk, based in Hong Kong. It was released in June 2008. Corinne has also written The Ecademy.com’s Sound Logo which was released in February 2008 during the organisation’s 10th anniversary celebrations in London.
Corinne Morris is a member of the British Academy of Composers & Songwriters, the Guild of International Songwriters & Composers and the Music Producers Guild.
