Michael Regan was born in 1947. His musical training was at the GSMD with Peter Wishart (harmony), Buxton Orr and later, Patric Standford (composition).
The composer divides his work into several categories ranging from the classical ( a symphony, 2 concertos and chamber works), light music influenced by jazz and Latin American idioms, and a number of minimalist piano pieces.
Recent works include a Quartet for tubas and euphoniums performed and recorded by the virtuoso group TUBALATE and Changing Faces for youth orchestra published and recorded by Composers Library.
Michael divides his time between teaching and examining, and composing. He holds a masters degree (gained with distinction) and is an honorary fellow of the London College of Music with which he has been associated for 30 years as teacher and examiner. He is married with 2 children and is based in SW London.
