Biography

I am a musician / singer - songwriter / instrumental composer from Stockton-on-Tees. I have been playing guitar and composing music since my teens and have been in a variety of bands, and performing solo at live venues and on local radio in the Teesside area, since the early 1960s.

I compose in a number of different genres - songs for bands, music for radio broadcasts and advertising, the theatre, and for both guitar and orchestral ensembles - and have recorded my original material on both 7" vinyl and CD formats.

In the early 1990s I began GypsyKate Music and GypsyKate Studios which I run from my home, where I compose and record, engineer and produce my own original material on my analogue and digital studios. I have my own band called GypsyKate with my two friends and collaborators - Ian Alexander and Mike Lewis - and we write and record our own original material, and play live gigs whenever we can find the time.

As a survivor of Prostate Cancer (I had radical surgery in 2002) I now sell my CDs in order to raise money for Prostate Cancer Research. Details of all my recordings and compositions can be found on my web sites with other items of interest, and interesting links.
