3 'A' Levels
Music Degree at University of Liverpool 1985-89

PGCE in Music and RE

Medical History:  Aged 2 Knocked down by a car. Cancer at 5. Leg amputated at 8. Cancer again at 9. Chemotherapy for 3 years until 12. Fine ever since. But I can’t drink alcohol because I’m legless as it is! 

Professional Career:
1. Teacher of RE/Music Broughton Hall RC High School Liverpool for 5 years.
2. A number of appearances on BBC Songs of Praise. Also the Albert Hall. Toured with top American Gospel singer Jessy Dixon. Led a 3 piece Brass Section and writing arrangements.
3. Privilege of playing in Graham Kendrick's (a leading Christian Songwriter) band twice.
“Rumours of Angels” Musical at Preston Guild Hall and Albert Hall.
4. Concerts at Greenbelt mainstage and Spring Harvest.
5. Hillsborough Rock Concert Anfield Liverpool 1997. Closed the gig playing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” with Love and Joy Gospel Choir. 36,000 people. Lightning Seeds, Beautiful South etc
6. Following Sunday Songs of Praise Goodison Park Liverpool 40,000.
ie 76,000 people in one week!
7. Played in rhythm 'n' blues/soul/rock 'n' roll bands through the years

Religious History: Baptist Sunday School. C of E Primary School.
Religious Conversion aged 17 at Inter-church Mission in Darlington led by Colin Urquhart 14th September 1984. A result of doing my 'A' Levels at Carmel RC now Technology College. My best friend had read about the Holy Spirit and encouraged by his parish priest. 6 of us gave our lives to God that night.
Wonderful RE teacher at school. Started a prayer group in school.
Excellent parish prayer group. Still going strong.
Baptised a Catholic when I was 18.

Music Ministry:
1.For 3 years 2004-2006 Led and co-ordinated Music Ministry at the RC New Dawn Conference Walsingham c3000 people. Co-ordinated 25 musicians. Produced double CD of music from each comference.
2. Walkin' Hope Conference Newcastle and part of organising team 2 years
3. Northern Catholic Conference Liverpool 2005 and Southport 2006.
4. Part of worship teams at Celebrate for a number of years.
5. Supporting Derek Williams (Flame Ministries) Flame Days

Organised 6 Days of Renewal in Liverpool with prayer group I helped to lead with my now ex-wife. National speakers: Charles Whitehead, Michelle Moran, Fr Sean Conaty etc.

2. Co-ordinated Music Ministry for Potta Tour 2003, 7 venues around the country attended by 15,000
3. Member of Diocesan Service Team for Hexham and Newcastle 2 years 2003-2005
4. Trustee of St Mary's Wycliffe Retreat Centre in Co Durham. Helping to formulate business plan and Architects plans for re-developing the site.
5. Springs Family Community based in the North East. 2 family days in Gateshead.

QUITE A YEAR IN ALL SORTS OF RESPECTS. GLAD IT WAS OVER TO BE HONEST. MUCH TO BE PROUD OF. BUT ALSO MAJOR DECISIONS WITH UNFORESEEN CONSEQUENCES.

I’M ON SABBATICAL. I’M HAVING A WELL EARNED REST
I HAVE GIVEN MY ALL IN EVERY WAY FOR 5 YEARS.
THIS IS FOR ME A TIME OF REFLECTION. I’M TAKING A STEP BACK RE-ASSESSING MY LIFE. RE-EVALUATING MY GOALS. WHO I AM AND WHERE I AM GOING. A VERY HEALTHY EXERCISE AND I THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ALL. HOWEVER BE WARNED. IT CAN THROW UP SOME SURPRISING REALITIES. NEW PERSPECTIVES. DISCARDING OLD ASSUMPTIONS AND ESTABLISHING NEW PRIORITES.
I WOULD LIKE TO ASSURE ALL WHO ARE INTERSTED IN MY WELL-BEING MY BEING IS VERY WELL THANKYOU.
I FEEL VERY STRONG. I AM VERY HAPPY IN MYSELF AND WITH LIFE.
