Adam Has been playng the guitar since his early teens and has since gone on to write and record not only blues and rock music but also classical.
He has been in several rock bands, all of which have given him experience but went nowhere. Adam decided that he would go solo and continue with writing his own rock instrumentals.
In 2004 he produced an album, with the intention of selling to a niche audience, of medieval inspired contemporary music. And later in 2005, he produced a rock instrumental album. Both of these have not yet been prepared for sale.
With his love of rock music plainly evident in his earlier works, he has only recently branched out to classical music (although he has always had a love for this also).
He has experimented with combining rock music with classical. One particular peice that comes to mind is Handel's Sarabande - from harpsichord suite no.11.
Adam had recently entered a composing competition for Classic FM's 'Smooth Classics'. He submitted two works, the first is entitled 'The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse' and the second is entitled 'Ballo Mascherato'. These works can be listened to on his myspace profile: myspace.com/adamjameswakeling
He has just completed his 'Music for the Media' diploma in Media Composition, as he wants to compose music for film and TV, etc.
He has also just completed writing the score for an Amateur Dramatics Society production entitled 'King Arthur'.
