Biography

Robert Ramskill was born in Leeds in 1950. After studying music at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, he moved to the Midlands in 1975 to take up an appointment as Lecturer at the Coventry School of Music (he is now a Senior Lecturer at Coventry University).

Whilst living in Coventry he has written many compositions for local musicians ranging from youth and amateur orchestras, choirs, bands and other ensembles in Coventry, Birmingham and Leicester through to works for professional musicians in the area including Patricia Garnham (soprano), Julian Hellaby (piano) and Colin Sneade (tuba).

He has written numerous 'educational' albums which are published by Brasswind Publications and pieces which are now set in all the major practical exam syllabuses. Robert is also very active as an arranger and is one of the regular arrangers for BBC Television's 'Songs of Praise' programme.
